The Noses

Meet Crumpet and Muffin (aka The Noses). They were the first hamsters in the house and were bought from a pet shop- the last and the oldest ones there. They are Russian Dwarves and were born around May 2012.

Crumpet is the bigger and darker of the two and also the more dominant. He is the most tame although they have had equal handling. Muffin doesn't really like to be cuddled and hisses a lot. Although they are biologically boys, they were sold as a pair of females so there is some slight gender confusion with them being referred to as 'the girls' on quite a regular basis. I'm sure they don't mind.

Their favourite things are peanuts, runner beans and running on their silent spinners. Muffin particularly likes to dig and will often go to sleep underneath a pile of sawdust having been exhausted by the dig down there.

Sadly Crumpet is no longer with us, quietly passing in his sleep on the 7th May 2014. He hadn't been very well for several months, the most notable sign of which was his dramatic weight loss. He was found by Lucy, snuggled up in his strawberry house- a jolly good way to go if you ask me. Rest in peace little Crumpet.
